Ex-Seahawk Jerramy Stevens pleads no contest to DUI charge

TORRANCE, Calif. (AP) Former Seattle Seahawks tight end Jerramy Stevens has pleaded no contest to driving drunk in a Southern California beach town.

Prosecutors say Stevens entered pleas Thursday to two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 - both within 10 years of a previous DUI offense.

Stevens, who's the husband of women's soccer star Hope Solo, was arrested in January in Manhattan Beach while driving a van owned by the U.S. women's national soccer team.

Authorities say Stevens's blood alcohol level was at least 0.15 percent - nearly twice the legal limit.

Solo, who was with Stevens, was suspended from the national team for 30 days for what soccer officials only defined as health-related issues. She had been ordered to refrain from drinking alcohol last June after being arrested at her sister's home on domestic violence charges that were later dropped.

Stevens also has a 2007 DUI conviction in Arizona.
