Pete Carroll: Russell Wilson contract extension talks 'going a little slow'
Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll says the team continues to negotiate a contract extension with quarterback Russell Wilson.
Wilson's rookie deal is set to expire after the 2015 season and reports of a possible extension have swirled for months. In January, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported the Seahawks will make Wilson the NFL's highest-paid quarterback, surpassing the $22 million annual salary paid to Aaron Rodgers. ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio reported last month that the two sides have finally begun negotiating.
Carroll was asked this weekend how those talks were progressing. From the Seattle Times:
In an interview with ESPN on Saturday, coach Pete Carroll said talks are "going a little slow, but it’s ongoing," adding that the Seahawks are "waiting to hear from their side."
ESPN reported that one hangup is the amount of guaranteed money Wilson would receive.

Wilson has started every game for the Seahawks since they drafted him in the third round in 2012. He has won 36 regular-season games and helped lead Seattle to consecutive Super Bowls
Wilson said shortly after this year's Super Bowl that he wants to "play in Seattle forever."
