The Baltimore Ravenssigned free-agent cornerback Kyle Arrington on Thursday, one day after a deal was first announced pending a physical.

The Ravens said the deal was for three years, but did not disclose additional details.

Arrington, 28, spent the last six seasons with the New England Patriots, who released him on Monday. Arrington was scheduled to be paid $3 million next season with a $4.625 million cap hit for the Patriots. Reports suggested New England might have been interested in bringing him back on a smaller deal.

Last season, Arrington recorded 39 tackles, four pass breakups and two forced fumbles in 14 games. Over 86 games in seven seasons, he has recorded 352 tackles, three sacks, 48 pass deflections, nine interceptions and five forced fumbles.

Arrington, listed at 5'10", 190 pounds, is expected to compete for the Ravens' third cornerback spot behind Jimmy Smith and Lardarius Webb.

The Ravens' pass defense ranked 23rd last season with 248.7 yards allowed per game.
