The Chicago Bears have signed cornerback Tracy Porter to a one-year deal, the team announced on Monday.

Porter was released by the Washington Redskins in late May. The 28-year-old has spent seven seasons in the NFL since being drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the second round in 2008.

Injuries limited Porter last season and he appeared in only three games for Washington. In 2013, he started all 16 games for the Oakland Raiders and recorded 67 tackles, two interceptions and 13 passes defended.

Porter spent the first four years of his career with the Saints, starting 39 games.

Roundtable: Over/under 1,200 yards for Adrian Peterson?

The Bears finished 5–11 last season.
