The agent of free-agent linebacker Brandon Spikestold the Boston Herald that his client's 2011 AFC championship ring was stolen and sold on eBay.

Spikes' ring appeared on eBay recently and was sold on Tuesday for $19,499, according to the Herald. There was speculation that Spikes had put the ring up for sale himself, but his agent Gary Uberstine said the ring was stolen before it was put on eBay and that the company has been notified.

Uberstine also told the Herald that Spikes will file a police report.

Spikes won the ring as a member of the New England Patriots.

The 27-year-old left the Patriots in 2014 and signed with the Buffalo Bills. After a year in Buffalo, he returned to New England on a one-year deal in May but was released on June 8 after a car registered to Spikes was found abandoned on an interstate highway.

Last week, Spikes was charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury crash, operating a motor vehicle negligently to endanger, speeding and failure to stay within marked lanes.
