Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy has seen limited action in training camp this week due to a minor toe injury, head coach Rex Ryan told reporters Wednesday.

Ryan said McCoy has been dealing with soreness and swelling in his toe.

“He's just had a little toe ... it's not turf toe or anything like that,” Ryan said. “It's not something that's really going to hamper him in the near future.”

Ryan believes the three-time Pro Bowler will be ready for an intrasquad scrimmage Saturday night.

“I think he will be [ready],” Ryan said. “But obviously that can change. But the main thing is not that he plays the scrimmage; the main thing is that he’s ready to roll when there are live bullets.”

McCoy rushed for 1,319 yards and five touchdowns last season with the Philadelphia Eagles. He was traded to Buffalo for linebacker Kiko Alonso in March and soon signed a new five-year, $40 million contract with the Bills.

The Bills open the 2015 season Sept. 13 against the Indianapolis Colts.
