Tennessee Titans cornerback Jason McCourty underwent groin surgery but could return for the team's regular-season opener, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.

McCourty has missed much of training camp due to the groin injury. He didn't play in either of the Titans' first two preseason games.

Coty Sensabaugh is behind McCourty on Tennessee's depth chart.

Entering his seventh season, all with the Titans, McCourty has played in all 16 games in each of the last three years. In 2014, McCourty recorded 85 total tackles, as well as three interceptions and two forced fumbles.
