Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant was suspended four games for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Thursday.

The former fourth-round pick's suspension is currently under appeal.

Earlier this offseason, running back Le'Veon Bell was suspended two games.

The news of Bryant's suspension comes days after center Maurkice Pouncey experienced a broken bone in his ankle.

After not playing in the first six games of his rookie season last year, Bryant caught 26 passes for 549 total yards and eight touchdowns down the stretch for the Steelers.

Pittsburgh opens the 2015 season on Sept. 10 at New England.
