New Orleans Saints cornerback Keenan Lewis will miss four to six weeks after undergoing hip surgery Tuesday, reports NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.

Lewis, who is New Orleans' No. 1 cornerback, played briefly in the Saints' preseason loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday. He missed Tuesday's practice with the injury.

The Saints will now look to rookie Delvin Breaux, as well as Brandon Browner, to fill the void left by Lewis.

The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Lewis, 29, in the third round of the 2009 draft.

In six NFL seasons, Lewis has 207 tackles, seven interceptions, 51 pass deflections and three forced fumbles.
