Raiders sign free agent linebacker Lorenzo Alexander

The Oakland Raiders have signed free agent linebacker Lorenzo Alexander, the team announced Wednesday.

The signing comes two days after Alexander was released by the Arizona Cardinals.

Alexander, a nine-year NFL veteran, has 154 tackles (95 solo), nine sacks, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and six passes defended in his career.

The Berkeley, Calif. native has also been a standout on special teams, as he has recorded 94 special teams tackles throughout his time in the NFL.

Alexander previously played for the Washington Redskins and Cardinals. He also spent time on the practice squads of the Carolina Panthers and Baltimore Ravens.

Alexander, 32, was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Panthers in 2005.

To make room for Alexander on their roster, the Raiders waived linebacker Horace Miller.​
