The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have released kicker Kyle Brindza, the team announced Monday.

Brindza, a rookie out of Notre Dame, connected on just six of 12 field goal attempts in four games, missing two extra points over the past two weeks.

He won the job in training camp after incumbent kicker Patrick Murray was released as he dealt with a knee injury.

The Buccaneers do not have another place kicker on their roster.

Tampa Bay (1–3) hosts Jacksonville Week 5. They sit in a tie for last place in the NFC South with the New Orleans Saints.
