X-rays negative for Seahawks RB Fred Jackson (ankle)
X-rays were negative for Seattle Seahawks running back Fred Jackson following an ankle injury he sustained against the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football, reports NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
According to the report, Jackson will undergo an MRI next to determine the severity of the injury, but based on the X-rays, it does not appear to be as bad as was originally anticipated.
After collecting 21 yards on three carries Monday night, Jackson was sidelined by the injury during the third quarter of Seattle’s eventual 13–10 victory over Detroit.
With Jackson injured, and Marshawn Lynchout due to a hamstring injury, the Seahawks were left with Thomas Rawls as their only healthy halfback on Monday. Rawls finished with 48 yards on 17 carries.
This season, the 34-year-old Jackson has eight carries for 47 yards, as well as seven receptions for 74 yards and a touchdown. He signed with Seattle in September after being released by the Buffalo Bills during the preseason.
With their win Monday night, the Seahawks improved to 2–2, while the Lions fell to 0–4.
