Cleveland Browns center Alex Mack refuses possible trade
Cleveland Browns center Alex Mack refused to be traded by his team on Monday, reports NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport.
Mack’s name has been mentioned in trade talks ahead of the NFL’s Tuesday deadline, but the seventh-year pro is not interested in leaving Cleveland.
“I have a ‘no trade’ clause in my contract,” Mack told Rapoport. “It was included for good reason: I’m not leaving my teammates, coaches and Browns fans while there is work this season to be finished.”
Mack, who was selected by the Browns in the first round of the 2009 draft out of Cal, had his best season in 2013, being named second-team All-Pro. He has started all 93 games in which he has played in his NFL career, including all eight games this season.
The Browns (2–6) will travel to face the Cincinnati Bengals (7–0) at Paul Brown Stadium on Thursday at 8:25 p.m. ET.
