Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Ricardo Lockette’s NFL future is uncertain after he sustained ligament damage in his neck on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, reportsThe Seattle Times’ Bob Condotta.

The wide receiver injured his neck in a violent collision with Cowboys safety Jeff Heath during punt coverage in his team’s 13–12 win in Week 8. Following his injury, the team said Lockette had “full motion and feeling in all extremities,” despite being motionless on the turf until he was removed from the field.

Lockette, a fifth year pro, underwent surgery Monday to stabilize his injured neck, and Carroll told reporters the receiver may need to remain in Texas for a week in recovery. He will miss the remainder of the 2015 season.

This season, Lockette had four catches for 69 yards and one touchdown. He also played special teams, where he recorded four tackles in eight games.
