Jason Pierre-Paul will make his season debut on Sunday against the Buccaneers after being added to the active roster on Saturday, the team announced.

Pierre-Paul signed a one-year deal with the Giants in late October to rejoin the team after a four-month absence stemming from hand injuries he sustained in a July 4 fireworks accident.

The team was granted a two-game roster exemption to allow him to practice without counting against the 53-man cap, beginning with last week’s practices. The Giants deemed him ready to return after one week.

Pierre-Paul will log his first game action since Dec. 28, 2014 when the 4–4 Giants play Tampa Bay, 4:05 p.m. ET Sunday.

In a corresponding move, the Giants placed linebacker Jon Beason on injured reserve with injuries to his knee and ankle. They also signed cornerback Tramain Jacobs off their practice squad and waived defensive tackle Louis Nix.
