The Saints were cruising against the Titans, leading 14–3 with just over a minute to go in the first quarter. They nearly forced Tennessee into another three-and-out, but instead, things went terribly wrong on a third-and-6.

Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota lobbed a pass downfield to a pair of Saints defenders, and as both of them tried to come up with an interception, neither of them did. Instead, the ball popped into the air, and tight end Delanie Walker grabbed it and took it for a 61-yard score.

The Titans closed the gap to 14–10 after an extra-point, but New Orleans scored on the next drive to go up 21–10.
