Bears quarterback Jay Cutler became Chicago’s franchise leader in touchdown passes on Monday night against the Chargers.

Cutler made history with a one-yard pass to Martellus Bennett with the Bears trailing the Chargers 13–0 in the second quarter. It was the 138th touchdown pass in his tenure with Chicago.

Cutler, who was selected by the Denver Broncos in the first round of the 2006 draft out of Vanderbilt, has played for the Bears since 2009.

The 32-year-old also owns the Bears’ record for passing attempts, passing completions and passing yards.

Cutler was a Pro Bowl selection while with the Broncos in 2008.
