Ravens place center Zuttah on IR with torn pectoral muscle
Zuttah might have been able to play with the injury, but the team decided it's best for him to have surgery now.
Coach John Harbaugh says, ''They can't say 100 percent that it would heal like they want it to if we took time and waited, so we're going to go ahead and get that done.''
Zuttah is in his second year with the Ravens after beginning his career in 2008 with Tampa Bay. His run of successive starts is the fifth-longest streak among active interior linemen.
Zuttah is the 17th player to be placed on injured reserve by the Ravens this season.
