Houston Texans quarterback Brian Hoyer reportedly suffered memory loss as a result of the concussion he sustained last Monday.
Hoyer left last Monday’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals with a concussion, the third of his career.
“[Hoyer] wasn’t functioning correctly as to how we know he’d usually function calling a play, receiving a play and trying to communicate it to the offense,” head coach Bill O'Brien told reporters after the game.
In his place, backup T.J. Yates will make his sixth career start.
Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET in Houston.
