Denver Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler is getting right to work.

Making his first career start, Osweiler connected with Demaryius Thomas for a 48-yard touchdown in the first quarter against the Chicago Bears.

Osweiler is starting in place of Peyton Manning, who is inactive for the first time since missing all of the 2011 season. Osweiler, who turns 25 today, was a second-round draft pick in 2012. 

Thomas entered Sunday with 68 catches for 816 yards and only one touchdown.
