Browns sign wide receiver Terrelle Pryor, put McCown on IR

BEREA, Ohio (AP) The Browns have signed wide receiver Terrelle Pryor, bringing him back after cutting him at the end of training camp.

The former NFL quarterback and Ohio State star tried out with several teams after being released but didn't secure a roster spot. The Browns have always been intrigued by Pryor's size and athleticism and now need him with wide receivers Andrew Hawkins and Taylor Gabriel still sidelined with concussions.

Pryor, who can also serve as a No. 3 quarterback, was slowed by a nagging hamstring injury during the preseason and only played in Cleveland's final exhibition.

The Browns have also placed quarterback Josh McCown on injured reserve with a broken collarbone. McCown got hurt in the second half of a 33-27 loss to Baltimore on Monday night. McCown missed three games and parts of three others with injuries this season, his first with the Browns.
