The Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions will begin Week 13 action on Thursday, marking the first of many games with postseason implications this week.

The Carolina Panthers are the only undefeated team remaining in the NFL following the New England Patriots’ loss to the Denver Broncos last week.​ Carolina will try to keep its winning streak alive against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

Patriots announced that tight end Rob Gronkowski sustained a bone bruise to his right knee in his team’s loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday. He will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis, and there is no official timetable for his return.

• Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger told 93.7 The Fan that he expects to play Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. Roethlisberger sustained a concussion in the Steelers’ loss to the Seattle Seahawks last weekend.

• The Arizona Cardinals announced they have placed running back Chris Johnson on injured reserve with designation to return, meaning Johnson has to miss at least eight weeks and will not be eligible to play before the Super Bowl.

• The Atlanta Falcons held a players-only meeting Tuesday, reports ESPN’s Vaughn McClure. The Falcons have lost four games in a row and five of their last six.

• Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he thinks quarterback Tony Romo will play for another four or five years, reports ESPN’s Todd Archer.

• The Cleveland Browns announced that quarterback Josh McCown will miss the rest of the season with the broken collarbone he sustained in his team’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Monday.
