Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount left Sunday night’s game against the Texans with a hip injury and will not return, the team announced.
Blount left the game in the second quarter after rushing for 53 yards on 10 carries. Brandon Bolden took over the running back duties after Blount‘s injury, carrying five times for 22 yards before the half.
Blount leads the Patriots with 165 rushing attempts this season, 116 more than Dion Lewis, who was lost for the season in Week 9. Bolden entered the game with just 19 carries on the season, nine fewer than Tom Brady.
James White is New England’s only other active running back.
