New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman is progressing well in his recovery from a broken foot suffered in a 27–26 win over the New York Giants on Nov. 15 and could be ready to play by Week 17, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

Edelman was listed as doubtful on the Patriots injury report Friday prior to the team’s Week 15 matchup with the Tennessee Titans, an upgrade on his inactive status the last few weeks. He did practice with the team this week on a limited basis.

Edelman leads Patriots receivers in yards and touchdowns this season, hauling in 61 receptions for 692 yards and seven touchdowns.

The Patriots have also seen their top threat in the passing game, tight end Rob Gronkowski, and wide receiver Danny Amendola slowed by a slew of injuries. Both Gronkowski and Amendola are probable for Sunday’s game.

Quarterback Tom Brady was listed as questionable with an undisclosed illness.

The Patriots (11–2) have already won the AFC East and are looking to clinch a first round bye.
