The Denver Broncos had a touchdown nullified after an illegal substitution penalty during Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers

In the third quarter, the Steelers punted the ball the ball to Denver’s 29-yard line. Steelers safety Shamarko Thomas touched the ball along the sidelines, and many assumed the play was dead. However, Broncos wide receiver Jordan Norwood did not as he picked up the ball and returned it for a 71-yard touchdown.

Noorwood’s teammates also thought the play was dead, as some of them headed onto the field before the play was over, which penalized Denver for illegal substitution.

If the touchdown had counted, it would have given Denver a two-score lead.
