The New York Giants have promoted wide receiver Ben Edwards to their active roster in the wake of Odell Beckham Jr.’s one-game suspension.

Edwards signed with the Giants as a free agent out of the University of Richmond in May. He practiced with the Giants during spring workouts, but was released at the end of July following a hamstring injury. The Giants signed Edwards to the practice squad on Nov. 17.

Edwards is now eligible to play in Sunday night’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. The Giants signed wide receiver Julian Talley to take Edwards’ spot on the practice squad.

Beckham was suspended for his actions involving Carolina Panthers cornerback Josh Norman during Sunday’s game. He filed an appeal, but the suspension was upheld. Beckham can return to the team on Monday.
