The Dallas Cowboys have placed quarterback Tony Romo on the season-ending injured reserve and listed Dez Bryant as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills, the team announced.

Romo missed eight weeks of the season with a broken clavicle before returning and leading Dallas to a win over the Miami Dolphins. He re-injured the clavicle against the Carolina Panthers on Thanksgiving. With the Cowboys eliminated from the playoffs, Romo's plans of returning once again were finally put to rest.

Quarterback Jameill Showers has been promoted to the active roster. Kellen Moore is expected to make his first regular season start.

Bryant suffered a foot injury in the first game of the season, which caused him to miss five weeks of action. Bryant has 31 receptions for 401 yards and three touchdowns on the season. He did not practice all week. Receiver Cole Beasley is listed as questionable.
