Dolphins interview ex-Falcons head coach Mike Smith

The Miami Dolphins interviewed former Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Smith on Monday, reports CBS Sports’ Will Brinson.
Smith, who was fired by the Falcons last December after seven seasons at the team’s helm, had a 66–46 record in his tenure in Atlanta, including a 1–4 mark in the playoffs. The Falcons did, however, reach the NFC championship game with Smith as head coach in 2012.
Before his time with the Falcons, Smith served as the defensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2003–2007. Before that, he coached in multiple capacities with the Baltimore Ravens from 1999–2002.
Miami’s interim head coach Dan Campbell is expected to get an interview for the heading coaching position, but the team will likely move in a different direction.

Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase is rumored to be the top candidate for the job.
