The Philadelphia Eagles have interviewed Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase for their vacant head coaching position, the team announced Tuesday.

Gase, 37, would become the NFL’s youngest head coach if hired to replace the departed Chip Kelly. He has been linked to head coaching interest from multiple teams, including the Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins.

The Bears went 6–10 in Gase’s first season with the team. Gase followed head coach John Fox to Chicago from Denver, where he served under Fox as wide receivers coach, quarterbacks coach, and most recently, offensive coordinator. He has been lauded for his work with quarterbacks including Tim Tebow, Peyton Manning and the Bears’ Jay Cutler, and his willingness to adapt his team’s offense to its personnel.

Cutler enjoyed a career year under Gase this season, despite the team’s struggles, and had high praise for his offensive system this week.
