Report: Steelers’ Ben Roethlisberger (shoulder) likely to play vs. Broncos
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will likely play Sunday against the Denver Broncos, reports ESPN’s Bob Holtzman.
Roethlisberger was injured during Saturday’s wild-card game against the Cincinnati Bengalsafter a sack from linebacker Vontaze Burfict.
Burfict sacked Roethlisberger on a blitz, driving the quarterback’s right side hard into the ground. Roethlisberger was taken off the field on a cart, while favoring his right arm. He eventually returned to the field to help lead Pittsburgh’s game-winning drive, capped by a Chris Boswell field goal to give the Steelers an 18–16 victory.
Roethlisberger, a first-round draft pick in 2004, completed 68% of his passes with 21 touchdowns and 16 interceptions during the regular season.
• Steelers WR Antonio Brown (concussion) likely out vs. Broncos
The Broncos host the Steelers in the divisional round of the playoffs on Sunday at 4:40 p.m. ET at Mile High Stadium.
