The Tennessee Titans interviewed Jacksonville Jaguars offensive line coach Doug Marrone on Thursday, the team confirmed.

The Titans fired Ken Whisenhunt in November after he spent less than two seasons as the team’s head coach. Tight ends coach Mike Mularkey served as interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

Marrone began his NFL coaching career in 2002 as the offensive line coach for the New York Jets. He then went on to become the offensive coordinator for the Saints from 2006-08. Marrone spent four seasons as head coach at Syracuse before serving as head coach of the Buffalo Bills from 2013-14, compiling a 15–17 record.

Marrone opted out of his contract with the Bills after 2014, but did not land another head coaching job.

He also interviewed with the New York Giants and the Cleveland Browns for their head coaching positions earlier this month.

The Titans are set to interview Mularkey for the position on Friday.
