Las Vegas fans scramble as cable fight threatens Super Bowl

LAS VEGAS (AP) Thousands of Las Vegas football fans are scrambling to figure out if they'll be able to watch the Super Bowl.

Cox Communications cable customers haven't been able to watch any CBS programs since Saturday, when local affiliate KLAS-TV pulled the channel off the Cox lineup. The move followed five months of failed contract negotiations.

Market research firm SNL Kagan says about 40 percent of all area households subscribe to Cox.

KLAS-TV's parent company, Nexstar Broadcasting Group, wants the cable provider to pay more to carry its programming. Cox has balked at the costs.

That's led many Las Vegas fans to try to find backup plans for watching the big game on Sunday.
