Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam said Friday he has tried reaching out to Johnny Manziel in the wake of his latest incident, but Manziel has not responded to him.

Haslam made the comments to the media after a Roger Goodell press conference in San Francisco. Manziel was the subject of a police investigation after he allegedly struck his girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, late last month. He was not charged in the incident.

“Johnny has not responded to us but we’ll do anything we can to help him personally and our thoughts and prayers are with Johnny and his family,” Haslam said. “...We’ve reached out several times since all this came out last Saturday just as we would any other player and I think it’s enough said on the issue.”

Manziel’s dad fears his son ‘won’t live to see his 24th birthday’

Manziel has had a tumultuous two seasons with the Browns, after they drafted him in the first round of the 2014 draft. Cleveland reportedly plans on releasing Manziel in March.
