By virtue of their Super Bowl championship, the Broncos will open the 2016 NFL season at home on Sept. 8. Denver’s home opponents have already been set but the NFL has yet to announce who the Broncos will play in the opening game. A rematch with the Panthers is a possibility.

The Broncos are scheduled to play the Chargers, Chiefs, Raiders, Texans, Falcons, Panthers, Colts and Patriots at Mile High Stadium next year.

The NFL could choose to set up a Super Bowl rematch against Carolina. If Peyton Manning returns to Denver, the league could also pit Manning against his former team or arrange another Manning-Tom Brady matchup.
