It remains unclear whether Peyton Manning will retire after leading the Broncos to a Super Bowl 50 victory over the Panthers. But if he does, his exit will be similar to that of another former Broncos quarterback: John Elway.

Elway, now Denver’s general manager and vice president, ended his career as a champion with a win over the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl XXXIII in 1999.

In Super Bowl 50, Manning completed 13 of 23 passes for 141 yards, no touchdowns and an interception. He also fumbled twice, losing one of them early in the fourth quarter to set up a Carolina field goal drive.

In Super Bowl XXXIII, Elway led the Broncos to a 33–19 win and earned Super Bowl MVP honors by completing 18 of 29 passes for 336 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He also ran for one touchdown.
