Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson congratulated Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning on his career with a letter posted on The Players Tribune on Monday.

The Players Tribune senior editor reflected on Manning's career before crediting the two-time Super Bowl champion for inspiring him at Manning’s quarterback camp as a teenager.

“You inspired the kid in the green shirt,” Wilson wrote. “You inspired me to work hard. To be disciplined. To be respectful. To take notes. You inspired me to love the process. To love the sweat. To love the tears. But most of all … You inspired me to love the game.”

Manning completed 13 of his 23 pass attempts for 141 yards and threw an interception as the Broncos defeated the Panthers 24–10 in Super Bowl 50. When asked about his potential retirement, Manning emphasized his plans to spend time with his family and figure it out later after enjoying the Super Bowl moment.

Manning is now the oldest quarterback to win a Super Bowl and the first to win two Super Bowls with two different teams.
