Chicago Bears hire Tulane coach to lead wide receivers

CHICAGO (AP) The Chicago Bears have hired Tulane head coach Curtis Johnson as their new wide receivers coach.

The Bears on Monday also hired Rutgers offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Ben McDaniels as Chicago's offensive assistant. The Bears also promoted Pierre Ngo to assistant strength and conditioning coach.

Johnson has been head coach at Tulane for the last four years. Previously, he was wide receivers coach for the New Orleans Saints from 2006-11. He also spent 22 seasons as a college wide receivers coach.

McDaniels previously was an offensive assistant with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He's also worked for the Denver Broncos.
