Report: Eagles, Dolphins discussing trade involving Byron Maxwell
The Eagles are currently in discussion with the Dolphins about a trade that would send cornerback Byron Maxwell to Miami, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
Maxwell, 28, signed a six-year, $63 million deal last season. He is expected to earn $8.5 million in 2016 and $10 million for his base salary for the 2017 season.
Rapoport reports that the deal “could happen soon” and Miami would not have to give up more than a late-round draft pick for the cornerback.
Maxwell started 14 games for the Eagles last season and finished with 64 combined tackles, four assists and two interceptions.
