The New York Jets will re-sign running back Bilal Powell, reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Powell played in 11 games for the Jets last season, carrying the ball 70 times for 313 yards and one score. He was also a threat as a receiver, catching 47 passes for 388 yards and two touchdowns.

Powell will likely provide depth in the backfield for the Jets, who lost Chris Ivory to the Jaguars in free agency but picked up former Bears star Matt Forte.

New York selected Powell, 27, in the fourth round of the 2011 draft. In his career, Powell has recorded 402 carries for 1,609 yards and seven touchdowns.
