The New England Patriots have traded defensive end Chandler Jones to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for a second-round draft pick and offensive guard Jonathan Cooper, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Jones was expected to earn $7.7 million in his team option for 2016.
The draft pick details have not been announced yet.
Jones finished last season with 44 combined tackles, 12.5 sacks and four forced fumbles. He has 36 sacks in 55 career games.
In January, Chandler visited a Foxborough police station for help after reportedly having a bad reaction to synthetic marijuana.
Cooper was drafted in the first round of the 2014 draft.
