The Arizona Cardinals have re-signed running back Chris Johnson to a one-year deal, the team announced.

Johnson played in 11 games for the Cardinals last season, running the ball 196 times for 814 yards and three touchdowns. He split time in the backfield with David Johnson and Andre Ellington.

Johnson signed with the Cardinals in 2015 after one season with the Jets, with whom he averaged 4.3 yards per carry. Johnson ran for at least 1,000 yards in each of his first six seasons in the league—all with the Titans—but has been used more as a complementary back the last two years.
