Cowboys re-sign pass rusher Jack Crawford after best season

IRVING, Texas (AP) The Dallas Cowboys have re-signed defensive end Jack Crawford after the best season of his four-year career.

Crawford, who grew up in London, had four sacks and seven tackles for loss while playing all 16 games and making his first career start in 2015.

The 27-year-old had a growing role in defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli's rotation on the line. He is likely to get more opportunities early in the season with second-year pass rusher Randy Gregory suspended for the first four games of the 2016 regular season for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

The Cowboys also added defensive end Benson Mayowa earlier in free agency, signing him to an offer sheet that Oakland didn't match.
