Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak has talked with free-agent quarterback Johnny Manziel about joining Denver, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that the discussion occurred “a month ago.” Mike Klis of 9News in Denver reports that the Broncos “have no plans to sign” Manziel, nor has the team discussed it. Schefter reports that the team wants to wait until Manziel’s legal issues and potential NFL discipline are resolved.

In February, Dallas police announced that Manziel’s case of alleged domestic violence had been referred to a grand jury, which will decide whether Manziel should be charged.

Manziel’s ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, accused Manziel of striking her several times, leaving her with a ruptured ear drum. She filed an affidavit stating that Manziel threatened to kill her and himself early on the morning of Jan. 30 after a night of partying. Police also reportedly have surveillance video from the incident.

Manziel was released by the Browns last month after two seasons with the team.
