Court sides with woman suing ex-NFL player for child support

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) An appeals court is siding with a woman who is suing former NFL player Siran Stacy for child support.

The Alabama Court of Civil Appeals ruled Friday that a Geneva County judge was wrong to dismiss Sharon Chancellor's complaint. She claims Stacy owes about $65,000 in support for their five children.

The judges say Chancellor didn't receive proper notice of the dismissal after she went to court last year seeking money from Stacy.

The court fight between Chancellor and Stacy dates to 2003, four years before a wreck killed Stacy's then-wife and four of their children.

Stacy is now a Christian motivational speaker. He didn't return an email seeking comment.

Stacy played two seasons at Alabama and one with the Philadelphia Eagles before going to the NFL Europe.
