Buffalo Bills quarterback Cardale Jones called head coach Rex Ryan his “long-lost dad” because of his willingness to let players speak their minds.

“He might be my long lost dad,” Jones said according to Syracuse.com’s Matthew Fairburn. “I’ve been looking for him for 23 years.”

Jones, 23, was selected by the Bills on Saturday in the fourth round of the NFL draft. He is expected to back up incumbent starter Tyrod Taylor next season.

In 2014, Jones led Ohio State to a national title, completing 60% of his passes and throwing for 860 yards and seven touchdowns, while adding 296 rushing yards and one touchdown on the ground.
