Peyton Manning visited Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill earlier this spring to offer advice on the type of offense run by new Dolphins head coach Adam Gase, Tannehill told the Miami Herald.

Manning worked with Gase when he was the offensive coordinator for the Broncos. The Dolphins hired Gase as head coach in January after he spent the 2015 season as the offensive coordinator for the Bears.

Tannehill told the Miami Herald that Manning’s respect for Gase was evident as he provided insight on his offensive style.

“It was really cool,” Tannehill said. “A guy that had his career, the living legend he is, coming off a Super Bowl winning season—it was really cool just to be able to sit and pick his brain about things he's done in this offense and football things in general: snap counts, things you like, the way you want guys to run routes, little details about the game. We really just got to talk the game, which is something we both love.

“He is something I aspire to be, as good or better as he is one day. Hopefully, we’ll be able to get him to come around some more.”

Manning retired after the 2015 season, concluding 18 years in the league with a Super Bowl win. He has not indicated what he plans to do during retirement, though he reportedly met with Hall of Fame coach and broadcaster John Madden to discuss his future options.
