Panthers sign 3rd-round draft pick Worley from West Virginia

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) The Carolina Panthers have signed third-round draft choice Daryl Worley, a cornerback from West Virginia.

Terms of the deal were not announced Tuesday.

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Worley was a two-time All-Big 12 Conference choice and played in 34 games with 27 starts at West Virginia. He turned pro after his junior season.

Worley had 146 tackles, 10 interceptions, 21 passes defensed and two forced fumbles during his career.

The Panthers previously signed second-round choice James Bradberry, a cornerback from Samford, and seventh-round draft choice Beau Sandland, a tight end from Montana State. The team now has three of its five draft picks under contract.
