New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has inspired Green Bay Packers signal caller Aaron Rodgers to eat healthier, reports ESPN’s Jason Wilde.

Brady, 38, has been outspoken about the value of nutrition, and has also written a book about healthy eating habits.

“To be honest, Tom Brady is an influencer there because of the stuff he talks about, and how healthy he is,” Rodgers said.

A two-time NFL MVP, Rodgers used to abide by the standards of 80% healthy eating and 20% eating for enjoyment. This off-season, however, he and his trainer have taken a much more serious approach to his nutritional plan.

“I think it is all about finding ways to challenge yourself. And one area I’ve really focused on is working with Adam [trainer] with my nutrition, and really thinking hard about that,” Rodgers said. “We’ve talked about it the last few years, but even more this year – just trying to be smart about my eating habits.

“Everybody eats a little differently. But the more where you are aware of what you put in your body and how it affects your performance, the better opportunities you have. And that’s what I’m trying to do.”
