Green Bay Packers tight end Jared Cook is out until training camp, reports ESPN’s Rob Demovsky.

Cook, who signed a one-year, $2.75 million deal with the Packers this off-season, underwent foot surgery earlier this week. He was cut by the Rams in February after spending three campaigns in St. Louis.

Last year, Cook had his most unproductive season in five years, recording 39 receptions for 481 yards and no touchdowns. In his seven-year NFL career, the 29-year-old has accumulated 273 receptions for 3,503 yards and 16 touchdowns.

“Jared is able to stretch the field a little bit with his little bit [of] extra speed,” Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said last week. “I’m excited to get him up and going and get to these installs and see what he can do even more.”
