Scottsdale, Ariz., police have recommended assault charges against Cardinals defensive back Chris Clemons after an incident in May with a woman outside a nightclub.

The 25-year-old woman was left knocked unconscious, though witness accounts of the incident vary. According to the police report, the woman, bleeding from her nose and mouth, told police that Clemons had punched her in the face after getting in argument with another woman. Clemons has denied hitting her, claiming the other woman struck her.

Clemons, 34, was cut by Arizona last season before being re-signed before the year was over. The team signed him to a new deal this off-season.
